According to recent reports, Apple is said to be looking to give Siri an overhaul. While Siri is definitely not new to the scene, it has been falling behind its rivals such as Google Assistant and Amazon’s Alexa which arrived much later to the party. The company has been on a hiring spree and their latest hire comes from Google.
In a report from The New York Times, Apple’s latest hire to bolster its AI efforts comes from Google in the form of John Giannandrea, Google’s (former) Chief of search and AI. In an email sent to employees by Apple’s CEO Tim Cook and obtained by the publication, “Our technology must be infused with the values we all hold dear. John shares our commitment to privacy and our thoughtful approach as we make computers even smarter and more personal.”
