When Apple announced the iPhone X, they also announced that they will finally be bringing Wireless charging to its smartphones, and that they would also be launching the AirPower wireless charging mat that would charge its wireless devices. However regarding a launch date, there is no mention of it yet.

However according to a report from The Apple Post (via AppleInsider), they have heard from an unnamed tipster from Best Buy that Apple could be launching the AirPower charging mat alongside the Airpods Wireless Charging case this coming March. It has also been reported that Best Buy will sell the AirPods wireless charging case with the AirPods in them, but apparently you can buy the charging case by itself through Apple’s own retail stores.

The March launch date does coincide with an earlier rumor that suggested that Apple could unveil new products in March, so if that is true, we wouldn’t be surprised if Apple were to take the opportunity to release its AirPower mat and wireless AirPods case as well. Needless to say that this should be taken with a grain of salt for now, as AppleInsider points out that The Apple Post doesn’t necessarily have the best track record for such rumors, but we guess we’ll just have to wait and see.
