Cortana Gets Native iPad Support

Microsoft’s Cortana personal assistant has been available on iOS for quite some time now but it didn’t have native support for Apple’s popular tablets right out the gate. Microsoft has finally updated its Cortana for iOS app with native support for the iPad. This means that users can get a proper look and feel from the app on their tablets when they’re using Cortana. Microsoft has optimized the app’s interface for 7.9 inch to 12.9 inch iPad sizes.

The updated app’s changelog mentions that it’s a “brand new design,” the app itself looks basically the same as the iPhone version, but the optimized user interface does make it easy on the eyes.

Microsoft released an update for Cortana late last month and claimed that the app now opens 20 percent faster than before. It has been consistently improving its assistance’s performance on iOS and the 20 percent launch speed gain it previously talked about applies to the Native Ipad app as well.

Cortana doesn’t dig deep into the operating system, though, due to Apple’s limitations. Like other assistants such as Alexa, it can perform tasks like scheduling calendar appointments, setting reminders, responding to queries, and more in response to voice commands.

Those who want to give it a try can download Cortana for iOS free from the App Store.
