New Report Claims iPhone SE 2 Might No Longer Happen

The other day it was reported that Apple could be working on the Iphone SE 2 where it could come with wireless charging and also see a launch in May or June later this year. However that might not be the case, according to a report from MacRumors which cites KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.

According to Kuo, he claims that Apple might have “used up” its development resources, and that they might not have enough spare resources to develop a new iPhone model for the second quarter of the year. As such it is unlikely that we will be seeing the launch of the iPhone SE 2 this year.

This isn’t to say that Apple is “broke”, but rather they have simply used up whatever resources they have allocated for development, but we can’t say for sure since we’re not privy to Apple’s decisions. However he does claim that should Apple choose to move forward with the iPhone SE 2, there’s a chance that its upgrades will be minimal and nothing too drastic, meaning that we’re probably looking at a spec bump rather than see new features like a new design, Face ID, or wireless charging.

In a way it would be a pity that there will not be an iPhone SE refresh this year, if the report is true, as Apple could be missing out on potential customers who would rather not spend nearly a thousand dollars for a flagship iPhone.
