Samsung has further cemented its position in the U.S. home appliance Market, according to a new report. The company is said to have retained its top position in the country’s home appliance market for the second year in a row owing to strong sales of refrigerators, cooktops, and washers.
Industry data from U.S. market researcher TraQline shows that Samsung’s market share in key household products in the United States was at 19.5 percent for all consumer appliances sold in the country. This is almost a twofold spike from the 11.5 percent market share that Samsung had back in 2014.
Samsung’s market share came in at 21 percent for the fourth quarter of last year. It was the first time that Samsung’s market share in the home appliance market of the U.S. crossed 20 percent during a three-month period. It posted a 2.3 percentage point gain from the same period last year.
Samsung’s position was cemented by strong sales of its premium products like the Family Hub smart refrigerator and the FlexWash washers. The company’s cooking-related products have done well too.
“The positive results are due to the time and effort put into determining the lifestyle patterns of consumers,” said a Samsung executive, adding that the company is planning to innovate more in order to provide even better products to its customers.
