Sprint Launches Calling PLUS For Galaxy Note 8

Sprint offers its subscribers a feature called Calling PLUS. That’s what Sprint calls its Voice-over-LTE and Wi-Fi calling services combined. There aren’t a lot of devices on the carrier’s network that support for this feature but Sprint has been rolled it out gradually for more devices. Sprint has now released Calling PLUS for the Samsung Galaxy Note 8. It’s included in the latest firmware update that also brings the October security patch for the handset.

Calling PLUS provides users with all of the capabilities of Wi-Fi Calling and also enables them to make and receive calls over Sprint’s LTE network. The feature lets users browse the internet and use other apps that rely on data services even when they’re on a call.

There are only a few Android devices that support Calling PLUS at this point in time. The Galaxy Note 8 now happens to be one of them.

Sprint has released build number N950USQU2BQJB for the Galaxy Note 8 on its network. The update also brings the latest security patches from Google that are included in the security maintenance release for the month of October.

The update also brings new versions of a few Samsung apps. It fixes an error with Samsung DeX as well.

Sprint now rolling out this firmware update over-the-air and it should have gone live for Galaxy Note 8 owners on its network by now.
