The range on Electric Vehicles these days have definitely come a long way from what they used to be back in the day. However for the most part it’s hard to beat a gas-powered car in terms of range, and also in terms of how quick and easy it is to refuel a gas car compared to an electric car.
While many companies are beginning to roll out more EV chargers, over in the UK there are plans that could potentially force Petrol Stations to install EV chargers. Given how ubiquitous petrol stations are, at least compared to EV chargers, it means that EV car owners should have no problems finding a place to recharge their cars.
This is part of the Automated and Electric Vehicles Bill that was announced during the Queen’s Speech earlier this year, but had its first reading by Transport Minister John Hayes. The bill will also require that all UK motorway services and large petrol retailers will need to be on board, and that the government will be given powers to “make it compulsory for chargepoints to be installed across the country.”
