Overwatch Reporting System Coming To Consoles Soon

While game masters and automated systems are in place to weed out players who are doing things they aren’t supposed to do, sometimes certain things are missed, and this is where player Reporting comes in handy as it will allow the community to contribute towards making a game a better place for everyone.

Reporting features have been a staple in multiplayer games for a while now, and the good news for Overwatch gamers is that it looks like the feature will be making its way onto consoles soon. Plans to bring the reporting feature onto consoles was mentioned earlier this year, but a recent post on the Overwatch forums has revealed that Blizzard is close to taking the feature live.

The post reads, “We also remain committed to bringing a reporting system to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. As console players ourselves, we know it’s been frustrating to not have this functionality on your platform. We are actively working on the feature and have many elements of undergoing internal testing right now.”

In addition to this, Blizzard has also announced that they will be imposing stiffer penalties to players with bad behavior based on verified reports. Given the toxic nature of many online games, Blizzard has been doing their best to keep on top of things, which includes immediate and permanent banning of players caught cheating.
