There aren’t a lot of OEMs that make Windows-powered smartphones these days. Microsoft is leading the charge with the Lumia lineup ever since it acquired Nokia’s Mobile business. There have been rumors that some OEMs might consider making smartphones powered by the latest iteration of Windows for mobile devices. Rumor has it that HP is going to come out with a Windows 10 Mobile-powered smartphone this year.

Rumor has it that the device previously known as HP Falcon is actually going to be released in the market as the HP Elite X3 and that it’s going to be powered by Windows 10 Mobile.

According to previous reports, the Falcon is going to be powered by the Snapdragon 820 processor from Qualcomm and will feature a 5.8 inch 2560×1440 pixel resolution display. Additional specs included a 20 megapixel rear and a 12 megapixel front sensor as well as 64GB of onboard storage.

It’s also said that the HP Elite X3 looks “pretty smart,” that’s the only hint about the design so far, because we’ve yet to see a leaked live picture or render of the actual device.

HP hasn’t confirmed if it will release a Windows 10 Mobile smartphone this year so take the rumor with a pinch of salt for now, even if it comes from @evleaks, who has proven to be right about these things many times in the past.
