If you are Dyslexic or if you know someone who is dyslexic, you might be interested to learn that Pocket has recently announced that they have updated their app to make it more user-friendly to those with dyslexia. How did they do it, you ask? Through the addition of support for the Dyslexie font.
For those unfamiliar, the Dyslexie font is a font designed specifically for people who are dyslexic. Due to the design of the font which has thicker lines, are longer, and are differently spaced, it supposedly makes it easier for those with dyslexia to read it, as opposed to more commonly used fonts.
Speaking to BuzzFeed News, Pocket product manager Tushar Kirtane said, any. “We added support for Dyslexie because people wrote in and asked for it. It’s not a slam dunk that it is effective, but we have some anecdotal evidence and people are really happy that we did it. That’s enough validation.”
