Sling TV, a standalone online TV streaming service, has gradually been expanding its lineup over the past year and the momentum continues in 2016. It has been announced today that Cinemax is now available on Sling TV, making it the first standalone internet TV service to deliver Cinemax over the top. Subscribers who want this channel will have to pay more for it.

Subscribers will have to pay an Additional $10 per month to access Cinemax on their Sling TV subscription. They will get a live, linear channel, over 500 on-demand movies and TV shows as well as all of the channel’s original series that includes popular series like Strike Back, Hunted, Banshee and upcoming series Outcast and Quarry.

The only way one could get Cinemax over the top previously was either through its authenticated app based offering Max Go and that too was available only to those who paid for conventional cable packages.

The base Best of Live TV Sling TV package provides access to over 20 channels for $20 per month, channels include ESPN, ESPN2, AMC< TNT, Food Network, HGTV, Travel Channel, CNN, Bloomberg and more.

Those who want more content can pay more for additional channels, HBO can be had for an additional $15 per month, and now Cinemax is an option as well for those who don’t mind spending an additional $10 per month on top of their base subscription package.
