Samsung highlighted Bixby as one of the biggest features of the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+. It’s a new voice interface which, according to the company, lets users perform any task on the handset by voice command that they can do by tapping on the display. Bixby is already available to users in South Korea but Samsung decided to delay its release to April for the U.S. A new report suggests that the Bixby U.S. release may not take place for a few more weeks.
The Wall Street Journal reports that English language support is not coming along as nicely as Samsung would have hoped so it needs more time to sort things out. The report claims that Bixby voice support for the U.S. won’t be ready until at least late June.
Bixby is said to be suffering problems in reliably understanding the English language. If that is the case, it absolutely needs to be sorted out before Samsung releases it to users. It’s one thing to delay a feature, it’s another to roll it out half cooked after you’ve made people wait for so long.
