Essential Phone Release Confirmed For June

The much-awaited Essential smartphone was finally unveiled officially yesterday. We now know what specifications this device has and how much it’s going to cost. Essential CEO Andy Rubin, who previously worked at Google and happens to be the co-founder of Android, has now confirmed when his company is going to start shipping out its first smartphone.

Andy Rubin confirmed onstage at Recode’s Code Conference that the Essential Phone release is going to take place within the next 30 days. This means that the device is going to be released next month. It’s only going to be out in the United States since Essential is yet to announce plans for its international release.

Those who are interested in picking one up can head over to Essential’s website right now and pre-order the device. It’s available in white and black colors initially for $699.

Essential has also launched a 360 degree camera module for the Essential Phone which costs $199 on its own. However, customers who pre-order the handset right now can buy the camera with it for a promotional price of $50.

Customers who do place a pre-order won’t know when their handset will arrive as the company isn’t taking credit card information just yet. Since the CEO has promised to have the device out within 30 days, we should get the precise release date in the near future.
