We’ve been reading reports and hearing rumors about the Moto Z2 Play over the past couple of weeks. The handset has now been properly leaked. Several renders of the device have appeared online aside from detailed information about its features and specifications, particularly its modular nature.
Winfuture confirms that the Moto Z2 Play is going to have a 5.5 inch 1920×1080 pixel resolution display with a 5 megapixel front camera accompanied by an LED flash. There’s also going to be an oval fingerprint sensor positioned below the display.
There’s going to be a Qualcomm Snapdragon 626 processor under the hood with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. The device is also going to have a 12 megapixel rear camera with dual LED flash and support for 4K recording. Additional features include USB Type-C port, NFC, Bluetooth 4.2, Android 7.1.1 Nougat, and a 3,000mAh battery.
The Moto Z2 Play is going to be modular in nature. It will be compatible with Motorola’s various “Mods” that enable users to enhance the functionality of the device by snapping on modules that do everything from enhancing the imaging prowess to boosting the sound quality.
