Google’s Family Link App Arrives On iOS

Last month Google launched the Family Link app for Android. For those unfamiliar, the app basically allowed parents to remotely control certain aspects of their child’s Android smartphone. However at that time, the app was only available for Android which meant that parents with iOS devices were left out of the fun.

The good news is that the Family Link apps is finally available on iOS, so even if you own an iOS device and your child is running Android, this shouldn’t be an issue. The features of the iOS app appear to be similar to the version of Android so it looks like a direct port, so it doesn’t look like there are any features missing, nor does it look like iOS users have new features that Android users don’t.

As it stands it appears that the Family Link feature is still in testing. This means that parents will need to request for an invite to be part of the testing program. It is also only available to those in the US so if you’re living in another part of the world, you won’t be eligible for now. No word on when Family Link will exit the testing phase and be available for all parents, but if you’re a parent that wants to be part of this, head on over to the Family Link website to request for your invite.
