Ever since smartphones existed, many of them have included home buttons which allows the user to go back to the home Screen. This has come in the form of a physical home button, or in some cases soft keys. However based on the leaked images that we’ve seen of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S8, there does not appear to be either.
So how does Samsung plan on letting users go back to their home screen? According to a report from The Korea Herald, apparently Samsung plans on using 3D Touch-like functionality to create a virtual home button that users can press on to bring themselves back, although we’re not sure if this will be specifically placed or if users can tap anywhere on the screen to go back.
It reads, “Samsung’s new flagship smartphone Galaxy S8 is expected to partly use the 3-D Touch technology for its “virtual home button” on the bottom of the display screen that allows users to open up menus and navigate the phone, while the fingerprint-scanning home button will be relocated to the back.”
