Amazon Alexa Will Now Support Office 365 Calendar

It was recently reported that Amazon’s Alexa would be able to support the Outlook Calendar, but if you’re looking for something to use at work or the enterprise, you might be interested to learn that according to a report from TechCrunch, Amazon’s Alexa will now support Office 365 calendars.

Of course the question is how many offices out there actually have Amazon Echoes or Alexa-powered devices lying around, but if you have one that you put in your office then we guess the Office 365 calendar integration is probably a welcome feature, that is assuming you do use the service.

Customers will be able to link their calendar within the Settings section in the Alexa app, after which you’ll be able to ask Alexa for information pertaining to your day, such as asking what meetings you have scheduled, or scheduling meetings or appointments, all of which can be done using your voice.

It is interesting to see Amazon starting to offer more enterprise-like functionality. This is because recently we have been hearing rumors about how Amazon might be looking to develop a commercial version of Alexa where it could be used for customer service purposes, or where it can also be used to make calls and function as an intercom, so we have to wonder if this might be a sign of things to come.
