In the fitness wearables scene, two companies probably come to mind when you think of health trackers: Fitbit and Jawbone. While the latter clearly does not have Fitbit’s market share, Jawbone used to be pretty synonymous with health trackers as well. With their fierce rivalry, it was not surprising that a lawsuit between both companies was filed.
However it seems that the legal dispute between Fitbit and Jawbone appears to be over and done with. A report from The Wall Street Journal has revealed that Fitbit is dropping their lawsuit against Fitbit. The company has withdrawn their complaint against Jawbone with the US International Trade Commission in which Fitbit had sought to ban Jawbone’s products from being imported into the US.
According to Fitbit, “Jawbone appears to be a different company. SEC filings of one of its biggest investors now value Jawbone shares as worth nothing, as well as indicate that Jawbone has filed for bankruptcy or is in default.”
