Mercedes-Benz has showcased its vision for the future of mobility at the Paris Motor Show. It has showcased an Electric Suv Concept which also served the purpose of launching Mercedes’ EQ brand for future electric vehicles. The German automotive giant says that the Generation EQ vehicle will be designed to combine the four pillars of modern mobility which include electric, shared, connected, and autonomous.
The company says that its EQ brand stands for “Electric intelligence,” and that it’s going to feature cars that have an architecture developed specifically for electric cars. The Generation EQ concept is that of an all-wheel drive fully electric SUV but the company says that the underlying platform can also be used for all-electric saloons, coupes, cabriolets, and other models as the component system is modular.
Mercedes-Benz didn’t provide any more information about this car today, only saying that the Generation EQ is close to production. What this SUV might look like in the final stage is unknown right now. The Generation EQ is said to feature one electric motor on each axle capable of producing 300 kW of power and providing a range of up to 310 miles on a single charge all while being able to go from 0 to 60 mph in under five seconds.
