Small power banks are among the most useful types of portable chargers on the market and this is mainly because they’re very portable. The smaller the power capacity of a power Bank, then the smaller it will be; the same goes for if a power capacity of a power bank is larger, then the size of it will be bigger and heavier as well.
This is why so many people go with small power banks because they’re so portable. The power capacities of these mini chargers are usually 3,000 mAh to 5,000 mAh. A lot of small power banks have a slow charging speed of 5V/1.0A, but the good quality ones have a faster-charging speed of 5V/2.0A and those are the ones that you should look out for to give your smartphone the fastest charging speed while you’re on-the-go.
High Capacity Power Banks
As I said with the small power bank, the power capacity will dictate the size of the portable charger, and the same thing rings very true when you go into the higher power capacity ranges. This is because these high capacity power banks are quite a lot bigger and heavier because they have more batteries inside of them. USB-C charging is quite similar to Quick Charge but to charge Quick Charge smartphones at their max charging speed, you’ll need a charging electronic to have USB-C charging ports and you’re going to need to use a USB-C to USB-C charging cable.

Rugged Power Banks
Just like smartphones, not a lot of them are able to withstand falls or have water dumped on them. There are very recently released smartphones like the iPhone 7, Galaxy S7 and other smartphones that are able to withstand water but they still cannot take falls and not get damaged.
The same things go for power banks because there are plenty of power banks on the market that is not waterproof or shockproof, so there’s a high chance of them getting damaged. With that said, there are still quite a few that are Rugged power banks. Rugged power banks are power banks that are able to take falls and not get damaged. They can also get water on themselves and even submerge into the water if the Enclosure is high enough.
Most of the time, Rugged power banks are sought to be only useful in times when you’re in the wild, and in rough terrain where the threats to an electronic device are most apparent. That’s true and it does make sense to purchase a high capacity Rugged power bank while you’re out in the wild because you’ll have long lasting tough power. However, Rugged power banks can also be useful for everyday use because the same threats of damaging your power bank are still everywhere, like hard flooring and water.
Power Banks that Have Built-In Charging Cables
As with a lot of charging electronics, the consensus is that you’re going to need a charging cable if you want to use nearly any charging electronic. This goes for power banks, wall chargers, car chargers, and even Wireless chargers need charging cable to be powered. With that said, there are some charging electronics that have built-in charging cables and those are the most useful kinds.
A built-in charging cable with a power bank is very helping because a power bank itself is already portable but by adding a charging cable to it, you’re able to dissolve the worry of having to always have a charging cable on you to actually use the power bank. Power banks with built-in charging cables usually have different versions, so you can pick what charging cable you need the most.

Power banks that use AC Outlets go into the category of being high capacity power banks but the ones that use AC Outlets are very useful with their function. This is because you can not only charge your devices using USB charging ports, but you can also power your appliances using an AC Outlet.
Most power banks that do use an AC Outlet have an Output power capability of 120 Watts and that’s enough to power lots of small appliances such as a Mini Fridge or a Lamp. In Addition to power these monstrous power banks, they have other features.

Overall, if you’re searching for a power bank that can charge and power your devices, then those exist. Although they’re quite large because they have to have very large power capacities.
