According to reports, it has been found out that Qualcomm is already developing a new flagship-grade chipset that will probably be the new Snapdragon 845 and will be a part of the new phone. Having said that, knowing past iterations, Samsung will probably still fit its international variant of the Galaxy S9 with the Exynos counterpart of the Snapdragon.
In fact, it had also earlier been speculated that Samsung had already started development on the new Samsung Galaxy S9 smartphone weeks before the S8 was even released. Although we are confident that Samsung will be pulling out all the stops for the next generation of Galaxy S9 with much better specs, we will have to do with the current King of the Galaxy hill.
It has not been clearly stated in what ways that Qualcomm will be expanding the skillset of the new Snapdragon 845. At this stage, it is still too early to tell, since the design will only just be floating about inside blueprints and concept plans. What we might be able to expect perhaps, is an even smaller nano-architecture process going below the 10nm process maybe? It is a long start, but it will give prove to be fodder for more rumors and stories regarding the new S9 in the coming months. However, there is certainty that this time around, the company will do more in the VR and AR space, maximizing the possibilities of the two technologies in order to provide a more immersive experience.
The company, only having been two weeks in, since the launch of its latest smartphone, has already come under the hammer for the screen issues and the oddly placed fingerprint sensor. What’s more, the iris scanner and the facial recognition features are considered to be mere gimmicks and that it would be easy to compromise, unlocking the phone using just the image of the user. To make matters worse, the smartphone came under fire by Asian communities when the iris scanner was not able to detect the eyes of people from certain Asian regions like Japan and Korea, who characteristically have squinted eyes compared to people from around the world.
