Has Samsung pushed back the release date of its much-awaited Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+? A new report states the South Korean electronics giant has set the worldwide launch for April 28.
VentureBeat cited an insider source that has revealed the date of the new global release, cancelling the hopes of an April 21 release.

There is no particular reason attributed to the delay. However, it appears Samsung is committed for no errors like the Galaxy Note 7 debacle that wiped out the company’s operating profits.
For those curious on the official unveiling which is expected to be on March 29, there won’t be any changes to that. Samsung has confirmed it will launch the flagship devices on the date at an event in New York. Pre-orders also should begin less than two weeks after the release. Reports speculate the date to be April 10.
The two new Samsung phones will sport dual-curved-edge, full-screen and ultra-high-resolution displays. The Galaxy S8 will feature a 5.8-inch Super AMOLED display while the Galaxy S8+ will come with a bigger 6.2-inch screen.
The processor will be Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 SoC. For some regions, Samsung will be equipping the Galaxy S8 and S8+ with Exynos 9 chipset. Both the Galaxy S8 models are confirmed to run on Android’s Nougat version. The battery will be 3000mAh and 3500mAh, respectively.
Further, the Galaxy S8 will feature Samsung’s new AI personal assistant, called Bixby, developed based on the technology gained from Viv-lab.
The Galaxy S8 was expected to be released at the MWC 2017 considering the previous Galaxy S series launches. However, that did not take place, to the disappointment of Samsung followers around the world.
The Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ could carry a price tag of $950 and $1050 respectively.
