Samsung has finally wrapped off its latest flagship, the Samsung Galaxy Note7 with some exciting new features and updates. Samsung has skipped the Galaxy Note 6 just to make its Note line-up parallel with its Galaxy S Series. Samsung’s Note series are the most iconic smartphones. As Samsung had already announced the official launch date for Note7, the company keeps the promise and launches the Galaxy Note7 after enormous leaks. Usually, the Note series is an innovation sector for the company. The Samsung Galaxy Note 7 comes with powerful features for powerful users. To summarize with, the Note 7 comes with curved screen, iris scanner and amazing S Pen features. Let’s have an immense look at the Galaxy Note 7!
The Design Of Galaxy Note 7
The Galaxy designers did not concentrate on body till the Note 5. But, after the launch of Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge, the designers are performing amazing! Gone are the days for plastic and metal design, Samsung has given a premium look and design to the Galaxy Note7. The new design feels good to hold and premium too. The front and back panels are made up of aluminium. The designers have made a symmetrical design, both the sides meet in the middle in order to meet the metallic skeleton. Just like Galaxy S7, the Galaxy Note 7 has no flat display. The Note 7 has curved display and curved edges on both the side. The curved display is protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 and the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 is the first one to use it.
Above the display, there’s a front camera accompanied by the speaker. Below the display, there resides a home button with fingerprint sensor and other two buttons (back and recent apps button) on either side of home button. At the bottom, there’s the speaker grill, S Pen slot, USB-C support and 3.5mm headphone jack. Thanks to the company that they have not removed 3.5mm jack just like LeEco did in LeMax 2 and Motorola did in Moto Z series. And yes! the Note 7 does not come with standard micro-USB chords but comes with USB-C support.
The standby (power) button is on the right hand side of the phone while the volume keys are present on the left hand side. Just like Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge, the Galaxy Note 7 has been designed waterproof.
Galaxy Note7 Specs & Features
We can obviously expect the the Galaxy Note flagship with high-end specs. The Galaxy Note7 features a 5.7-inch super AMOLED display. The core processor depends on the region you reside, either an octa-core Exynos 8 processor or Qualcomm Snapdragon 820. The phone is powered by 4GB RAM which is quite enough for multi-tasking and high intense gaming. Samsung has eliminated both 32GB and 128GB storage options. The Galaxy Note 7 is available in only 64GB storage option. However, the phone has microSD card slot which is expandable upto 256GB.
The Note series always comes with good battery life. The Note 7 features 3,500mAh battery life which is larger than Galaxy S7 and smaller than S7 Edge by 500mAh. The Galaxy Note 7 sports fast charging capabilities and company claims that it consumes same time as S7 to charge fully. Samsung Galaxy Note 7 supports both wireless and wired charging (PMA & WPC).
The Galaxy Note7 runs on Samsung’s own TouchWiz which is based on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow. This time Samsung has worked hard to bring out software and interface improvements.

Galaxy Note 7’s Camera
In Galaxy Note 7, Samsung has revamped the camera app and has made it very easy to navigate. You can simply swipe left and right to apply different filters and modes, while you can swipe up and down to switch between front and rear camera.
The camera package is borrowed from Galaxy S7 Edge and Galaxy S7. Note 7 features the same camera of S7 and S7 Edge. S7’s camera is renowned as one of the best camera in the market. The rear camera 12MP dual-pixel sensor with OIS [Optical Image Stabilization] and an f/1.7 aperture.
The front camera is squircle on the top of the display at the center with LED Flash/HR sensor towards the right. It sports 5MP sensor and an f/1.7 aperture.
Note 7’s Security
For those who don’t know, there were rumors ringing about the iris scanner feature in the Galaxy Note 7 and they have turned true. Samsung has included the iris scanner this time around. The iris scanner uses infrared to search the eyes. It is said that iris scanner works faster than fingerprint scanner. But if you are wearing spectacles or contact lenses, the device may take hard time to recognize your eyes.

You need to register your both iris in default case. But Samsung has provided an option to register only one iris.
Another security update is the Secure Folder. In this secure folder, you can store apps, games, music, videos, photos and anything you would like to hide. This folder is password protected so no-one except you can get into it.
Note 7’s S Pen Features
How can we forget the S Pen which comes with Galaxy Note series. Galaxy Note series are known for its stylus (S Pen) and a Galaxy Note is incomplete without S Pen. The S Pen is a compelling component for the company to persuade buyers to buy the Galaxy Note Series. Samsung has brought new innovations to S Pen features and functions this time around.
The Note 7’s S Pen measures 200mm long and weighs only 3 grams. Thanks to S Pen designers this time that there will be no S Pen debacle this time. The Galaxy Note7’s S pen is designed in such way that it can’t be inserted the other way round.
Galaxy Note 7’s S Pen offers standard features like Smart Select and Screen Write, but few things have changed this time. For freshers, the Notes app now consolidates Action Memo, Memo, Scrapbook and S Note applications into one. In complementary, the Air Command menu now includes a magnifier, as well as an easy way to translate text(words) in up to 71 different languages. Only words can be translated as of now, but soon this feature is going to get an update.
Another major addition to S Pen feature is the Smart Select feature with which you can take a 15 second GIF and share with others. So, you can share a small part of Youtube video with your friends and family. But this feature complies with the DRM rules, so if you can’t take a screen shot of something, you won’t be able to record it either.
The Screen Off Memo feature still exists. For those who don’t know, this features allows you to take a quick note on the blank screen without unlocking the device. With Galaxy Note 7, you can pin those handy memo to the always on display, that means you’ll able to see those quick notes even when your phone is on Standby mode.
Since the Galaxy Note7 is made waterproof, Samsung claims that you can even take notes under the water.
