OnePlus 2 Marshmallow update rolls out

The Chinese company is finally launching Android 6 Marshmallow Update for OnePlus Two. People have started receiving the OnePlus 2 Marshmallow update (Oxygen 3.0.2). Company was going to roll out the update in November 2015 but there has been a substantial delay due to some reasons.

The OnePlus Two Marshmallow update is incremental rollout for the company. Company claims to reach to all OnePlus 2 users in next 48 hours, which is quite ambitious.

Marshmallow update brings lots of changes. The changes include Google Now on Tap feature, new ways to handle Web links, revamped app permissions and new Chrome feature that changes the Web experience for Android users. Android Pay system is official with the Android 6 Marshmallow.

OnePlus has mentioned highlights of Marshmallow update:

  • Enhanced Doze mode for better battery life.
  • System wide performance improvements.
  • Improved fingerprint sensor performance and recognition.
  • New OnePlus Camera UI and AF optimization.
  • MaxxAudio and Tuner have been removed. OnePlus has integrated with Dirac HD Sound technology for the speaker so you get a great experience without the knobs and dials.
  • Shelf UX has been improved. You can now long press to edit a board.
  • You can now lock apps in recents so they won’t be cleared away. We’ve also added clear process in addition to clear-all for those of you who want a better control of background processes.
  • Network operator selection will now stick to your choice so you don’t accidentally roam onto unintended networks.
  • Swiftkey update to 6.3.3

Note – OnePlus 2 Marshmallow update (Oxygen 3.0.2) will remove all the registered fingerprints in your device. You need to re-register the fingerprints.
