WhatsApp has proven itself as a great way to communicate with single contacts as well as groups.

The ability to retrieve and search for info posted in a conversation from months ago also makes WhatsApp a great tool for retaining information.

A lesser known fact is WhatsApp’s abilities as a Private repository of information – just create a private group for yourself.

Here is a step-by-step guide to create your own private group:

In your Whatsapp “Chats” screen, click on the 3 right close to the top.

Click on New Group

Select a user from the list below. Really you could Select anybody as you are going to remove this person again afterwards.

Press the right arrow to complete the group member selection.

Give your group a name.

Your own group has now been created with the person that will soon be removed.

Click on the 3 dots again top right next to the group name. Select Group info.

Now remove the person to make sure you have a group of 1. Long press on the person to be removed.

Click on Remove X, where X is the person you added.

You now have a group you can post your own thoughts to, your own note keeping area.
