LTE 3GPP Band 41 TDD 2500Mhz is a global band covering 194 MHz of LTE TDD spectrum in the 2496 MHz to 2690 MHz range. The value of the 2.5 GHz spectrum band is derived from the value of the services that can be provided from the use of the spectrum. A spectrum band that requires more capital investment to deploy a broadband network is less valuable than a spectrum band that requires less capital investment for the same coverage and service.
LTE Band 41 TDD 2500Mhz overview
The U.S. 2.5 GHz spectrum band (2496 to 2690 MHz) has its origin in the approximately 190 MHz of spectrum in the 2.1 to 2.2 GHz and 2.5 to 2.7 GHz bands allocated previously to the Multipoint Distribution Service (“MDS”) and Multichannel Multipoint Distribution Service (“MMDS”) – collectively referred to as MDS – and the Instructional Television Fixed Service. The MDS/ITFS spectrum was licensed in six MHz channels on a site-specific basis, similar to the TV broadcast band, but with a 35-mile radius protection zone around transmit sites. MDS and ITFS channels were interleaved since they were both used for fixed point-to-point or fixed point-to-multipoint video transmissions.
