As reported by 9to5Toys, Apple is running a limited-time promotion in which it gives bonus funds to anyone topping up their Appl ID account. These funds can then be used for purchases across iTunes and the App Store.

The offer is valid for deposits of up to $200, and grants an extra 10% completely free. So while depositing $10 will grant an extra $1 to your digital wallet, you’ll get a free $20 if you add the maximum amount.

Of course, this is only worth doing if you’re planning to spend the money in the near future anyway. It’s worth knowing that the average Apple customer spends around $80 a year on the App Store – deposit that now and you’ll get a free $8, enough to cover several more app purchases.

To add credit to your Apple ID, open the Settings app to the iTunes & App Store page. Tap your Apple ID and then View Apple ID. After confirming your identity, press Add Funds to Apple ID and follow the instructions.

We can confirm that this offer is live in the U.S. until 14 March, though Apple hasn’t fully extended the deal worldwide. However, each region will vary and there are reports of similar deals in other countries – so it’s worth checking no matter where you are!
