I’ll briefly share with you how you can download any Instagram video at all using your PC (either Windows or Mac) in a few simple steps. You don’t even have to be techy to go about this; it’s damn easy, easier than you ever thought

In its not-so-many years of existence, Instagram with over 300 million monthly users has gained widespread popularity and has become one of the most used social apps, especially when you’re photogenic. Instagram allows users share pictures publicly/privately; videos (15 seconds maximum time) can also be shared on Instagram.

Instagram users can upload, view, like and comment on pictures and videos by using the native Instagram app for iPhone, Android and Windows Phone. Other third party apps can be used to access Instagram on Blackberry and Nokia Symbian phones.

Other than the native app, instagram can be accessed directly by visiting www.instagram.com from your web browser url, the only restriction being that you cannot upload picture or video using this method.

How to download an Instagram video on a PC? Is it really possible? Is that the question running through your mind right now? Not to worry, I’ll take you through this.

In this post, I’ll show you how to download an Instagram video on a PC – Windows and Mac – without using any third party application.

Step One: How To Download an Instagram Video on a PC

Open the web browser on your PC, and enter http://instagram.com into the browser url. Search for the user whose video you intend saving. For example, I’ll search ‘craze clown’.

Alternatively, if you know the username already, you can add it to the url. Here’s an example: Let’s say I intend saving a video off Craze Clown’s posts, Craze Clown goes by the Instagram handle ‘Crazeclown’, so I’ll simply enter http://instagram.com/crazeclown in my browser url, this would take me directly to Craze Clown’s profile as seen in the picture above.

Step Two: How To Download an Instagram Video on a PC

Look through profile and then select the video you intend to download.

The video itself should take a center stand once you click on it while comments would be shown at the right hand side of the screen.

Step Three: How To Download an Instagram Video on a PC

Right click on the video (Ctrl + Click if you’re on Mac) and then Click ‘View Page Source’. A page should open in a new tab – the page source.

Step Four: How To Download an Instagram Video on a PC

The page source would contain letter, numbers and characters that ordinarily might not make much sense to you; you’re not to worry about any of that. We’ll find our video right in there.

Step Five: How To Download an Instagram Video on a PC

Press ⌘ + F (command + F on Mac), this will enable you use the ‘Find’ function in your browser. Now type ‘mp4’ and hit the enter key.

All the texts in the page source that has ‘mp4’ would be highlighted. We would only be concerned with the very first text that has ‘mp4’.

Step Six: How To Download an Instagram Video on a PC

Highlight and copy the entire url where the first ‘mp4’ text was highlighted. You can use ⌘ + C (Command + C on Mac) to copy. Now open a new tab and paste the copied text in the address bar of your web browser and hit enter.

Step Seven: How To Download an Instagram Video on a PC

Wow! That’s the Video. Right click and then click ‘Save Image As’. You can now download the video to your preferred location on your PC.
