Samsung has finally let the cat out of the bag at the unpacked event in new York. With the addition of a slew of features, the Note 7 is now the top Android phone that money can buy.
When I saw the phone and all its details, it was clear that Note 7 is the Galaxy S7 Edge plus in another universe. The phone comes with a beautiful 5.7 inch dual Edge screen but also houses an improved s-pen. This is also the first phone that will make use of the Gorilla Glass 5 and the body is made of 7000 series aluminum making it one of the strongest phones out there. All the features that Samsung showed us were already familiar thanks to the excellent leaks that insiders in the supply chain have provided.
The most important addition of the Note 7 is the iris scanner. Samsung is not only using the entire setup to unlock the phone but also in protecting the user privacy, data and the phone itself. They have mentioned that the engineering teams have worked for 5 long years so that the phone will be able to unlock at a glance.
Another addition is the USB Type-C port at the bottom. Apart from making the phone future proof with the reversible port, Samsung is also providing a micro-USB adapter so that the existing accessories doesn’t find a place in the garbage bin.
The phone will be available on august 19th. This time around, Samsung is introducing the Note 7 in 4 colors black, silver, gold and for the first time in blue coral. The camera setup from S7 edge is carried into this phone.
The phone has also doubled the base storage from 32GB to 64GB and will also include an expandable slot. The battery capacity has been bumped up to 3500 mAh from 3000 mAh. Note 7 is also dust and water proof.
As for the pricing, the phone costs an astronomical $850.
