Google has revealed the early version of its next flavour for the Android operating system few months back. But things aren’t good in the Samsung land. Even the flagship phones are stuck on Android 5.1.1 thanks to the slow updates and carriers while Google is two generations ahead with Android N.
While most of the top phones from Samsung are currently updating to Marshmallow thanks to the folks in Samsung office working round the clock, there is no guarantee that the Android N will climb into the phones such as the S7, S6 and the Note 5 as soon as it is available.
But the good news is that Samsung has put an internal deadline of December for the phones to run the new version of Android. While this is still later than the LG and Motorola update period, the operating system will arrive sooner than its predecessors. Of course, Samsung will put out a beta test before updating the phones to fix the lingering bugs.
Samsung has recently been seen cutting heavily on the bloatware in its TouchWiz enabled Android phones. this will, in turn, help the Korean giant in rolling out the update faster and to multiple devices.
The devices getting the Android N update are Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 edge, Galaxy S6 edge+, Galaxy S7, Galaxy S7 edge, and Galaxy Note 5. The Tab S2 is also touted to get the latest flavour but other tablets have been deserted.
Android N has been shown by Google at its I/O developer conference to be the most efficient version of Android till date and it adds a host of new features such as instant app updates, background software installation without any restart and cutting edge Google assistant.
It also optimizes the battery along with phone free operations, better fitness tracking support and newer keyboards.
I am far too excited for the update, are you?
