Samsung Branding Vanishes from The Front of the Galaxy S7

Samsung is going Apple’s way. The latest entrant in the S-series, the Galaxy S7 and the S7 edge, is forgoing the Samsung logo from the front panel. The smartphones now look clean on the front. The Samsung branding is now on the back below the camera similar to the Apple logo on the back of the iPhone.

But some pictures have also surfaced online that showed the Samsung branding on the top of the display similar to the Galaxy S6 and S6 edge.  As of now, we can confirm that the handsets sold in the Chinese and south Korean regions have the front logo missing. The handsets selling in the Europe, Australia and western countries will have the branding as usual.

Samsung is staying mum on this removal of the logo. The exact reason behind the removal is not yet known but I am sure it must be for the simplified and elegant look that Samsung is desiring for its smartphones.

Samsung first tried this strategy in japan. Samsung goes by the name of Galaxy devices in this region. The logo on the front of the S6/S6 edge was removed as a part of a market experiment. The Korean giant is now expanding this trial to other regions.

But I must say, the devices look clean without the branding and the entire front side looks much more attractive especially the black colour handset.

Another interesting fact is that; Samsung electronics share rose to 12% by deleting the logo from the last year’s 5% in the wearable division.

The handsets will be released on march 11th worldwide.
