Samsung will come with mesh Wi-Fi router that will offer Smart Connect Home technology. This means that the technology will replace your antenna-laden router in your house with a set of little white pucks which can be placed wherever you want in your home.
Samsung’s achievement is to ensure that these little Wi-Fi routers will also serve as SmartThings hubs, so you can control your smart home gadgets. It should be also compatible with hundreds of third-party home devices. It also works with Zigbee, Z-Wave and also has a Bluetooth 4.1.
The company also say that each individual unit can cover up to 1 500 square feet. The routers will also come in packs of three or each individually. The standard connect will have 2×2 MU-MIMO antenna array and with a slower processor. The maximum specified speed of it will be 866 Mbps in the 5GHz spectrum.
There will also be a Pro version available with a 4×4 antenna which will cap out a 1.7 GHz. Nothing still is yet confirmed by Samsung about the price of these router, or either their release date.
