After finding the problem about their Note 7 battery failure, Samsung have stopped sourcing with their supplier. Instead, they are planning to turn to its rival LG, for the Galaxy Note 8 battery supplies.
It is said in a report from Korea, that Samsung are really considering Sourcing Batteries from LG Chem. Their relationship may begin within the release of the Galaxy Note 8 next year. Samsung are still in discuss with their battery suppliers for the Galaxy Note 7. It is mostly sure that they will cut their dealership with the companies since the failure of the Note 7. They would not be happy to make the same mistake with the Note 8, since the company must recover from their losses. The deal with LG is highly likely to happen, as some reports saying.
Taken as a consideration the time for the batteries to be designed, tested and produced, the battery supply from LG might not yet come until next year. Samsung is also believed to take LCD displays sources for their TVs from LG, right after Sharp stopped their deals with them.
There is not yet an official comment on this report by Samsung, but we can expect it in a near future.
