iCloud: The easiest iPhone 5c backup
- Browse to Settings > iCloud > Backup OR Settings > iCloud > Storage & Backup (prior to iOS8)
- Turn iCloud Backup on
- Select Back Up Now
After the first backup is created, future backups will be automatic (though you can come back and make manual backups any time). View backups at Settings > iCloud > Storage > Manage Storage.
iTunes backup
- Connect your iPhone 5c to your computer and launch iTunes
- Click File > Devices > Transfer Purchases and wait for the transfer to complete
