Many of us use the built-in Photos app to quickly Edit pictures on our Apple devices. Although, it offers limited functionality (as of now). It seems that Apple is trying to fix this. At WWDC 2022, Apple introduced a batch edit feature in the Photos app.
The batch editing feature lets you select multiple photos and apply edits to all of them simultaneously. This can be really useful when you want to edit (and resize) images in bulk and retain uniformity. It not only saves time but also organizes your pictures in a good manner.
Note: You must be on iOS 16, iPadOS 16, or macOS Ventura to access the batch edit feature.

Batch edit iPhone photos in iOS 16
- Choose any one photo, and tap on Edit.
- Make the edits and tap on Done.
- Select the photo again and tap the 3 horizontal dots from the top right.
- Tap Copy Edits.
- Now, go back, hit Select, and select the pictures where you want to apply the same edits.
- Tap the 3 three horizontal dots from the bottom right and select Paste Edits.
And that is how you can edit multiple pictures in one shot. We all love taking pictures with our iPhones, don’t we? Apple takes the crown when it comes to smartphone photography; well, we wish we could say the same for editing.
Besides this cool batch edit feature, iOS 16 also has some welcoming features such as deleting duplicates and encrypting recently deleted; Apple seems to be on the right track.
Tip: To discard the editing, simply select the pictures → 3 horizontal dots → Revert to Original.
How to edit multiple images at once on macOS
- Open the Photos app on your Mac and select a photo.
- Click on Edit → edit it according to your needs → Tap Done.
- Select Image from the menu bar and click on Copy Edits.
Alternatively, you can press (shift + command + c) to copy the edits. - Now, go back to the previous menu and select all the other pictures where you want to apply the same edits.
- Right-click on the pictures you’ve selected and click paste edits or press (shift + command + v).
Tip: To revert to the original pictures, right-click on the picture → Revert to Original.
Wrapping up
