How to Manage Website Settings in Safari on iPhone and iPad in iOS 13

In the growing era of Ad Blockers for browsers, Apple has always thought of redefining user experience in a better way. And the same is reflected with the launch of iOS 13. There are a lot of changes made to Photos app, Siri and especially the tweaks in Safari. We’ve already written a post on how to close Safari tabs automatically in iOS 13 and today I am going to explain you all the website settings in Safari on iOS 13 in detail!

In iOS 12, it wasn’t possible to convert the mobile version of the website to the Desktop version (original). But now with the nifty features introduced in iOS 13, it’s now manageable. Here’s a detailed guide on how you can do it. Let’s dive into the process now!

How to Manage and Change Website Settings in Safari on the iPhone and iPad running iOS 13/iPadOS 13

Enable Automatic Reader Mode and Request Desktop Sites in Safari on iPhone and iPad

Step #1. Launch Safari on your iPhone or iPad.

Step #2.
Visit any website on Safari or just open iGeeksBlog.com

Step #3.
On the left top corner, tap on the AA icon and then tap on the Website Settings option.

Step #4. Simply toggle ON the request desktop website to view the desktop version of the website.

Step #5. Further, toggle ON the User Reader Automatically option to read the website content without any hassles.

Step #6. Below that, you’ll find an option which is ‘allow a website to access’ Camera, Microphone and Location. By default, all the options are set to ASK. You can change them to either Deny or Allow for all three.

Once you’re done with all the options and selecting them as per your preference, tap on Done!

That’s it! These are newly introduced settings in iOS 13 and it’s quite easy to manage once you are used to it.

The above-mentioned settings are just applicable to a single website. If you’re looking to apply all these preferences to multiple websites or all websites, read on to know more!

View All Websites in Desktop Version Automatically in Safari on iOS Device

If you’re addicted to a desktop version and can’t get away on your iPhone, then it’s time to tweak some settings in your Safari! Here’s how you can open all websites or a specific set of websites in Safari.

Step #1. Launch Settings app → Tap on Safari.

Step #2.
Scroll down to find settings for websites. Now, tap on Request Desktop Website. This will show you a number of websites you have visited in the past.

Step #3. Next up, Toggle it ON for a specific set of websites which you want to view in Desktop version or simply Toggle ‘On Other Websites’ to ON to view all websites in the desktop version.

Step #5. If you want to remove any of the websites from the list, just tap on Edit on the right top corner, select the websites and tap on Delete option. This way, you can only keep the list of websites which are important to you.

Enable Reader View Automatically for All Websites in Safari on iPhone and iPad

Step #1. Launch Settings app → Tap on Safari → Reader.

Step #2. In ‘automatically use on’ section, toggle ON for selected (desired) websites that you want to view in reader mode.
