Google Tez is a pretty famous UPI-based online payment system in India. The app provides the users with a lot of amazing offers which has led to a plethora of active installs.

Google has finally decided to rename the Google Tez to Google Pay. On top of the usual features the app offers, the renamed app will now provide with a lot of new features.

Unlike the NFC-based system which is being used in the Google Pay in a lot of other countries, the Google Pay in India will still make use of the UPI protocol. We can certainly hope for the NFC gateway to be launched pretty soon as it is always a faster and a more secure way of transactions.

Furthermore, the Google Pay would now enable its users to apply for an instant, pre-approved bank loan directly from within the app. As of now, HDFC Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank, ICICI Bank, and Federal Bank. More banks will be added to the list pretty soon.

The feature is still in development and will be rolled out to the app in a matter of the coming weeks. Google announced that the users will be notified of the same via a push notification.

Adding to all that, Google is looking forward to expanding its support to more service providers. The current list of supported service providers is fairly limited – Goibibo, FreshMenu, BookMyShow, redBus, Dish TV, Croma, FoodPanda, Mi.com, and Nykaa.
