Nokia X (2018): The device will be a budget-friendly Android smartphone

Nokia is reportedly working on reincarnating the Nokia X. Last week, we received some sample images which suggested that the device is going to be launched come April 17.

Now, we have received some new intel which confirms that the device, if released, is not going to be a flagship by any means. It would rather be a budget-oriented Android Smartphone.

Recently, two model numbers (TA-1099 and TA-1109) have been certified by the CCC wireless authority. The report reveals that the charger which is going to be used will be a standard 10W charger, which is certainly not going to be the case if the device is a flagship Smartphone.

The standard 5V/2A has pretty much guaranteed that we are going to receive a standard budget-midrange Android smartphone which is possibly going to be called the Nokia X (2018).

This comes up as a sad news for a lot of Nokia fans who were hoping that HMD would try to treat them with a powerful smartphone, a trend even Apple followed with the iPhone X.

Original news:

HMD might be planning to launch a new Nokia smartphone come April 27. The device dubbed the Nokia X, was recently seen by some moviegoers in China who noticed the digital posters for the Nokia X.

This is rather a strange thing considering the fact that the company has not touted a single thing about the Nokia X so far.

Looking closely at the image, one can easily see the date mentioned at the bottom of the display which says April 27.

Furthermore, at the bottom, we can see the text saying “Share More Joy” which probably indicates that the device would be a media-centric phone.

Once again, it is pretty difficult to predict anything out of just these photos, but we can, at the very least, assume that the device will have a bezel-less display (if this poster is depicting the entire smartphone design) with a pretty negligible forehead and chin.

This, however, by no means could be the upcoming Nokia flagship, the Nokia 9 and hence, it would probably turn out to be more of an entry-level device just like the original Nokia X.

It is still unclear as to whether or not this is an actual product. That said, we are sure to get an update on the same in the coming days as April 27 is not that far.
