After series of leaks, Samsung finally unveiled its latest mid-range smartphone with Samsung Galaxy A8 and Samsung Galaxy A8 Plus in Vietnam on 19 Dec.The Samsung Galaxy A8 and Samsung Galaxy A8 Plus will go on sale starting from Jan 6 in Vietnam.Samsung Galaxy A8 and Samsung Galaxy A8 Plus are priced at $482 (Rs.31,000/-) and $592 (Rs.38,000/-) respectively whereas in Europe the device is priced higher at 499 Euros (Rs.38,000/-) and 599 Euros (Rs.45,500/-).The device will be available in four colors with Orchid Gray, Black, Gold, and Blue.

Samsung Galaxy A8 and Samsung Galaxy A8 Plus come with an all-new bezel-less design with nearly thin bezels at the front.It is built out of metal and glass and looks premium.Both the devices look exactly similar and the only change is in terms of display size.The Samsung Galaxy A8 weighs 172 grams and is 8.4 mm thick whereas Samsung Galaxy A8 Plus weighs 191 grams and is 8.3 mm thick.

At the front, we have the bezel-less display with slightly thinner bezels. On top of the display, we have the earpiece, Dual selfie camera, and sensors their is nothing below the display.At the back, we have the single camera with LED flash beside it and new fingerprint scanner located just below the camera module. On the right, we have the Power button and Volume rockers located on the left.

Samsung Galaxy A8 sports 5.6 inches and Samsung Galaxy A8 Plus 6.0 inches FHD+ Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080*2220p with an aspect ratio of 18.5:9 which is having curved corners similar to Samsung Galaxy S8.

Samsung Galaxy A8 and Samsung Galaxy A8 Plus are powered by Exynos 7885 chip coupled with 4GB RAM on Samsung Galaxy A8 and 4GB/6GB RAM on Samsung Galaxy A8 Plus with 32GB/64GB storage variants which can be expanded via microSD cards up to 256GB.

Both the devices feature single rear camera which is having a resolution of the 16MP sensor with an aperture of f/1.7, LED flash and PDAF.At the front, we have Dual Selfie cameras with a primary sensor of 16MP and an 8MP secondary sensor both having an aperture of f/1.9.The selfie camera is having two separate sensors an one can easily switch the camera and take pictures and it also comes with features like Portrait shots and Live Focus feature where one can directly select the bokeh effect manually live.It also comes with VDiS (Video Digital Stabilization) which prevent shaky videos.The rear camera can record videos up to 4K @30fps.

The Connectivity option includes Dual SIM/Single SIM with 4G LTE and VoLTE support, Dual Band Wifi, Bluetooth 5.0, ANT+, A-GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou, NFC, USB-Type C port, 3.5 mm audio port, and fingerprint scanner.All this fueled with 3000 mAh battery on Samsung Galaxy A8 and 3500 mAh battery Samsung Galaxy A8 Plus with support for Samsung Fast charging technology.Both the devices also come with support for Samsung Pay.Both the devices still run on Android 7.1.1 and will be upgraded to Android Oreo later.
