Motorola Edge 30 Ultra & Edge 30 Fusion launched in India

Motorola launched two new high-end phones in the Indian market today – Motorola Edge 30 Ultra and Motorola Edge 30 Fusion. These phones were announced globally recently, and now, they both have been launched in India. While the Edge 30 Ultra is a premium flagship powered by Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SOC, the Edge 30 Fusion is a high-end phone with Snapdragon 888+ chip.

MOTOROLA EDGE 30 ULTRA

The Edge 30 Ultra is the most powerful Motorola phone of this year, so it is not surprising that it is packed with features. Design-wise, the phone is made of premium materials. There is Gorilla Glass 5 on the back and also on the front. The rear glass has a matte finish. There is a curved display on the front and an aluminum frame. The fingerprint scanner sits under the display, and the phone features stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos.

The phone has a gorgeous 6.67-inch display, a pOLED panel with a Full-HD+ resolution, up to 144Hz refresh rate, and 10-bit color depth. The peak brightness of this panel is 1300 nits. Since it is a pOLED panel, the bezels on the phone are extremely thin, which makes it look even more premium.

Under the hood, Motorola Edge 30 Ultra is rocking the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip paired with LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage. The battery size is 4,610mAh, and the phone supports 125W fast wired charging and 50W fast wireless charging. There is also an option to reverse wireless charge another device at 10W power.

Finally, one of the main USPs of the Edge 30 Ultra is the camera setup. This is the world’s first smartphone with a 200MP sensor. This is the Samsung HP1 sensor with a 1/1.22-inch size, f/1.9 aperture, and OIS. Alongside this camera sensor, there is a 50MP sensor with an ultrawide lens which also shoots macro photos. Finally, there is a telephoto lens with a 12MP sensor that offers 2X Optical zoom. And it does not end here. For selfies, the phone has a 60MP sensor. You can shoot 4K 60fps videos via the front and the primary rear camera. Also, there is support for 8K video recording at up to 30fps with the primary 200MP camera.

Motorola Edge 30 Ultra runs on Android 12 out of the box.

In the Indian market, the phone comes in only one storage option, and that has 8GB RAM and 128GB storage. The price is ₹69,999, but Motorola is offering the phone at a special launch price of ₹54,999. The sale starts on the 22nd of September in India.

MOTOROLA EDGE 30 FUSION

The Edge 30 Fusion is the successor to the Edge 20 Fusion, but it is not a mid-range phone like the Edge 20 Fusion. Instead, this is a high-end phone with a premium design. There is gorilla glass on the front and back. The frame is made of metal. The display on the front is also curved on the sides, which again shows that this is not your typical mid-range phone from Motorola.

This is a 6.55-inch pOLED panel with a Full-HD+ resolution, 10-bit color depth, up to 144Hz refresh rate, and a peak brightness of 1100 nits. The fingerprint scanner is placed under the display.

The battery size is 4,400mAh, and the phone supports 68W fast charging. There is no wireless charging support.

In terms of performance, Motorola Edge 30 Fusion is rocking a Snapdragon 888+ chipset with LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage.

Finally, the camera setup includes a 50MP primary sensor with OIS, a 13MP sensor with an ultrawide lens, and a depth sensor. There is a 32MP selfie camera.

The phone is priced at ₹49,999 but will be available for a special launch price of ₹39,999. The sale starts on the 22nd of September.
