Redmi A1 launched in India, priced at ₹6,499

Today, Redmi A1 launched in the Indian market, and this is the first phone in this new series. The main USP of the phone is the fact that it has a pure Android 12 experience instead of MIUI. But it is also worth mentioning that it is an entry-level smartphone priced at ₹6,499.

Design-wise, this phone looks quite nice. The back has a leather texture, and there are flat sides. On the front, the phone has a waterdrop notch and a noticeable bottom chin. There is no fingerprint scanner on this device.

Under the hood, Redmi A1 has MediaTek Helio A22, which is more than four years old SOC. It is paired with 2GB LPDDR4X RAM and 32GB storage. There is also a dedicated microSD card slot that can take a microSD card up to 512GB. The display size is 6.52-inch, and it is a 720p LCD with 400 nits brightness. On the rear, there are two cameras – an 8MP primary & a 2MP secondary. For selfies, Redmi A1 has a 5MP camera.

The battery size is 5,000mAh, and the phone supports 10W charging. Android 12 runs out of the box, and it is a clean Android experience with no custom skin.

Redmi A1 comes in three colors – Green, Blue, and Black. There is only one storage option (2GB + 32GB), and the price is ₹6,499. The first flash sale takes place on September 9.
