Design-wise, the only thing that makes the 9RT a different-looking Phone than the 9R is that camera module on the back. It is still a rectangular camera module, but the arrangement of all the cameras and the flash modules is slightly different. Moreover, there are three cameras on the back and not four as on the 9R. Apart from the camera module, there is no big difference in the design. So, the phone still has a flat display with a hole punch in the corner, no 3.5mm headphone jack, an alert slider on the right side, etc.
Speaking of the upgrades over the OnePlus 9R, the 9RT brings the Snapdragon 888 SOC compared to the Snapdragon 870. So there is definitely a big jump in performance. Moreover, the primary camera on the back has a 50MP Sony IMX766 sensor as compared to the 48MP Sony IMX586. The display is also slightly bigger at 6.62-inch, and it is a 120Hz Fluid AMOLED with a Full-HD+ resolution. The phone supports 8 5G bands which is definitely a big jump from the single 5G band support of the OnePlus 9R.
And well, those are all the upgrades that this new phone brings over the 9R. There is the same 4,500mAh battery with 65W fast charging support, a 16MP ultrawide, and a 16MP selfie camera.
There are two storage options – 8GB + 128GB and 12GB + 256GB. Both these options offer LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage. There are stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos, WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, NFC, and Android 11-based OxygenOS. OnePlus could’ve Launched this phone with Android 12 running out of the box, but it is a shame that it runs on Android 11 in 2022.
The phone comes in two colors – Nano Silver & Hacker Black. Here is the pricing for the Indian market –
- 8GB + 128GB – ₹42,999
- 12GB + 256GB – ₹46,999
