DXRacer has always sold incredible gaming chairs, and this one is no exception. While its price may be slightly on the higher side, you can’t ask for a better gaming chair than this one.

Buyer’s Guide

As we mentioned earlier, we’ve only looked at racing-style chairs on our list, so you’ll probably want to look at one of our other guides if you’re looking for a more traditional office type chair.

But just in case you don’t know what a racing-style gaming chair is, it’s a stiff and rigid chair that will come up around you and hold your body in place.

If that description is a bit confusing, simply think of car seats – racing car seats, specifically. They’re stiff and rigid – meant for racers to tightly fit inside them. Racing-style seats are built on the same concept.

Racing-style chairs aren’t for everyone because of their stiffness, but there’s no better chair for forcing better posture and ensuring comfort during lengthy gaming or office work sessions.

And if you don’t know what you should be aware of when buying a gaming chair, our buyer’s guide will hopefully help you out and give you enough knowledge on the subject to make an informed decision.

Below are some of the categories you should be considering when selecting the best gaming chair:

Adjustability

The best gaming chair is the most adjustable one. Remember that seats aren’t custom-made to your body, and you’ll likely be buying a generic one and hoping you’ll be comfortable in it.

Adjustability lowers risk and makes it more likely that you’ll be comfortable in a particular chair. And when we talk about adjustability, we’re talking about all kinds of adjustments.

Make sure the chair is height adjustable. Make sure you can recline backward. If you can recline, find out whether you can lock the chair at a particular angle. If you like rocking when working, you’ll want a chair that can rock back and forth.

The armrests also need to be adjustable, although you’re less likely to find this feature on more affordable models. Armrests should ideally be adjustable vertically and horizontally, and you should be able to turn them inwards or outwards depending on what you want.

However, you may not find this features on lower-end chairs and may want to skip them if you’re shopping on a budget.

Ergonomics

If you’re going to be seated in front of a computer for prolonged periods of time, you need a chair that will enforce good posture. Bad posture will lead to back pain and potentially huge future problems.

An ergonomic chair will enforce good posture and provide the right amount of support in the right places, so you can be completely comfortable when using it.

Lumbar (lower back) support is a must if you don’t want to suffer from poor posture and back problems. There are two main ways companies incorporate lumbar support in chairs: built-in arches and removable pillows. Both accomplish the same thing and are pretty much the same.

Neck support is also essential since you’ll be looking at your monitor for long periods of time. Most gaming chairs nowadays come with headrest pillows that can be adjusted for your height.

Some people don’t like headrest pillows – buy a chair with a removable headrest pillow if you think you may be one of those people.

Upholstery

You have two main upholstery options when you’re buying a gaming chair: leather and breathable mesh.

Leather looks better, can be cleaned more easily, and is astonishingly durable, but may not be that comfortable for longer periods of time because it isn’t breathable. If you sweat a lot, leather may not be the right choice for you.

Breathable mesh, on the other hand, is harder to clean and isn’t as durable as leather. However, it’s more comfortable than leather due to its breathability.
