Today, we’re going to take a look at the Vizio SB 3821 C6 sound bar, which comes with a wireless and separated subwoofer. Now let’s review the sound quality, how easy the system is to setup and some of the other features;
The device itself has a strange and funny packaging shape due to the separated and speaker sized subwoofer. It is a 2.1 sound bar system, which means you will be getting both left and right channels, which is must have for stereo sound.
We know from our past experiences that it actually improves the sound quality coming from any flat screen Television you use.
It’s a 38 inches sound bar and designed to pair with minimum 40 and above inch class televisions. The only reason we mention the size is because when you put the sound bar in front of a TV, you’d want it to look appropriate and nice, seriously, having a soundbar wider than your TV doesn’t look good at all. Anyway, if you don’t really care how it would look, it works properly with smaller or larger televisions too.
Its subwoofer comes with the sound bar, which is included in the price and it is designed very well. A very nice feature of the subwoofer is that it is indeed smaller in profile than the competitor brands.
Having a big subwoofer next to your TV may create a space problem and add a very technical look into your room with all the cables and stuff. However, with the Vizio’s subwoofer, this is not the case. You’ll be still getting that deep, rich and high-quality bass sound, which are so important for sound bars to have without a very large box sitting in your living room.
What’s in the package?
It comes with many useful and exciting stuff when you buy it. But, probably the most important and helpful components are the connection cables.
One of the great things about the Vizio product is that they supply all 3 cables in the package that you may need for different television models and ages, so you won’t have to pay more and buy them later on.
Why having these 3 cables is important? Unlike the Vizio, many competitor brands supply 1 or 2 connection cables at most for the very modern and latest television models. But with the Vizio, you get a digital Toslink audio cable, an RCA cable and also a digital coaxial cable. Let’s say you want to connect Vizio directly to your TV, which is only one of many ways that you can use it, If you have an old model television, let’s say older than 6 years, some of the connectivity cables might not help you to pair them together properly and you may experience syndication problems… But Vizio knows that not everyone has the latest model television and they give you every alternative connectivity cables that you might need for different television models and ages. This feature adds one point to Vizio if you have a relatively old model TV and want to make sure that everything will be set up properly.
As of April 2017, Vizio SB3821 C6 sound bar can be purchased from NewEgg with a price tag of $162. It’s an incredible price point because you won’t have to go out and buy additional subwoofers and connectivity cables for your TV.
Unfortunately, it doesn’t have its own mobile phone or desktop applications like Playbase, Playbar or SRT-1500 that allows you to control everything from one device. But at least it has a remote control device and batteries included in the package.
Since it’s not as fancy as the new model play bars, installing and set up process won’t take more than 10 minutes and start guide in the package provides every detail that you will need to set it up properly.
Of course, you’ll need to spend a few hours more if you want to mount Vizio to your wall, oddly enough, mounting bracket also comes in the package and saves you even more money.
Vizio Technical Details;
On the back-left side of the device is where you plug in your power cable and on the right side, 6 inputs are located. They are identified well in the quick start guide but just to mention a few, there’s a one USB input for memory sticks or directly connection your digital music library to the device. They also give you 2 digital inputs. first one is for the optical Toslink cable and the second one is for the coaxial cable.
If we need to say again, not every television has these connection types outputs, so Vizio has built in every possible solution and connection option for you.
Setting up the Vizio SB 3821 C6 Sound Bar;
Installing a sound bar and subwoofer couldn’t be easier.
The subwoofer itself is wireless with the exception of power, of course, just plug in the power cable and place it as you desire. Once it has electricity, just turn on the power on and it will be ready for syndication.
