Well, Sony just unveiled the latest incarnation of the Playstation franchise - the PlayStation 4 Pro and the story here is almost all about the Graphics. And, let me say, it's a story that's definitely worth telling. With a GPU that's twice powerful as the PS4, 1TB of hard drive storage and 4K and high-dynamic resolution (HDR) support, this will be the most graphically stunning console you've ever seen...and by a fair amount.
The HDR delivers outstanding graphics with enhanced visual clarity, color and luminance. Everything will look better on the PS4 Pro, with a range of colors never seen on a video game before. This is virtually cinema quality graphics for gamers - if you have the 4K TV to back it up.
One example of the improved graphics is when you look at an explosion on the PS4 and the PS4 Pro side-by side. On the PS4, the flames are fairly flat and reuse the same shades of yellow, red and orange. On the PS4 Pro, the flames seem to flicker and jump from the screen in an endless array of yellow, reds and oranges.
Another, possibly less exciting example of how the PS4 Pro surpasses its predecessors, is the ability of the new console to handle lights and dark. On the PS4, a beam of light would completely overlay anything in the background, while on the PS4 Pro, the light actually brings background objects into focus and highlights them.
What's most surprising is that this new technology has almost as dramatic an effect on older games as it does on brand new games. The console comes with a forward-compatible patch that gives it this magic-like power.
When you play “Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End” - which is probably the most graphically beautiful game ever made - on the Playstation 4 Pro, you're sure to be blown away. As awesome as the graphics were on the PS4, there's no comparison to the graphics for this game on the PS4 Pro.
