Book Review: God is a Gamer

Tags: book
Honestly, by the title of the Book alone, I was expecting it to be a philosophical book about one man defining God's way. But when I received the book in my inbox, thanks to Blogadda, I was in a pleasant shock to learn that the genre was a thriller.

Category: Fiction
Publishers: Penguin
Price: Rs.299/-
Pages: 309
Genre: Mystery/Thriller

Never having read this author, I had no pre-conceived notion on what to expect from the book. The first chapter of the book felt like some one with a very simple English writing it, but as the story progressed, it was hard to keep the book down. The book takes its reader on a roller coaster ride with good amounts of shocks and surprises to keep them glued to the book.

God is a Gamer by Ravi Subramanian, starts with introducing two big shots of the Financial world who would end up meeting eye to eye to save their business after discovering the bitcoins emergence. The author Ravi Subramanian takes the readers to several cities in parallel to a bankers, gamer, senates, BPO heads and head of states amidst which is love, lust and lies going a notch higher with every chapter. As the story evolves, it brings out new characteristics and just when the reader begins to imagine and interpret the story, the plot changes. The book keeps proving its reader wrong which is one reason that once, the book it picked up, it is hard to put down. Short chapters, easy language, parallel plot and a fast paced story is something that keeps the reader of the book hooked.

I would definitely recommend this book to people who like to read thriller. Not just the book, but I will in fact recommend reading other books by the author. His language is simple, witty and he uses phrases that can easily be used at ease.
