Dr Seuss Inspired Truffula Tree Treats are perfect for snacks and parties, and for celebrating Dr Seuss Day! Only 3 ingredients needed and no baking!

Dr Seuss Inspired Truffula Tree Treats

Dr Seuss Day falls on Wednesday, March 22 this year. Here’s a fun treat you can make with your kids to help celebrate Dr Seuss. Be sure to scroll to the bottom of the post for a free printable word search activity you can print out for the kids!

Here’s how to make them.

  • Time: 3-5 minutes
  • This recipe makes 4 servings.

Equipment Needed

  • medium glass bowl
  • 4 paper straws (straws with colored stripes look best. They can be found on Amazon or at stores like Dollar Tree.)
  • measuring cup

Ingredients

  • ¼ cup white candy melts
  • 4 marshmallows
  • 1x 2.5oz bag cotton candy (This can be found on Amazon or at Dollar Tree and some grocery stores.)

Instructions

Heat the white candy melts according to package instructions until they are fully melted. If you are heating the melts in the microwave you might try heating for 1 minute at 50% power, stir, then heating again for 30 seconds at 50% power.

Dip a paper straw into the melted white candy, and then immediately push into the bottom of a marshmallow. The melted candy will harden, and help keep the marshmallow attached to the paper straw.

Take a handful of cotton candy out of the bag.

Fluff the cotton candy slightly in order to form a circular shape, then flip it over and make a small indention.

Dip the marshmallow into the melted white candy, and then put the marshmallow into the indent in the cotton candy.

Let the treat set for about 30 seconds to allow the melted candy to harden slightly, then flip it over.

You may need to fluff the cotton candy again, and pull it down a bit to cover the marshmallow.

Repeat the process with the remaining straws.

These treats are best if eaten immediately, or within 30 minutes of being made, as the cotton candy will begin to harden and start to shrink if it sits out.

Serve and enjoy!
