Pink Pearl Hot Chocolate Bombs

Pink Pearl Hot Chocolate Bombs are pretty to look at, tasty to drink and fun to watch. These hot cocoa bombs can easily be made at home and make for a fun activity to do with the kids. The pink and pearl combination is great for Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day, birthdays, get togethers, baby showers/sprinkles, wedding showers and much more. Here’s how to make them.

Tips

  • Change up the color of the chocolate to suit your taste, event theme or holiday!

Equipment Needed

  • silicone half sphere candy mold
  • glass mixing bowl
  • microwave safe sandwich plate
  • food safe gloves

Ingredients Needed

  • 12 oz bag pink candy melts
  • sugar pearls
  • 1 tbsp hot chocolate per bomb
  • pink mini marshmallows
  • white cookie icing
  • 8 oz water OR milk

Instructions For Making Pink Pearl Hot Chocolate Bombs

Pour the candy melts into a microwave safe bowl.

Heat the candy melts for 30 seconds or until they have fully melted.

Use the melted chocolate to coat the inside of the silicone candy mold, making sure that entire inner surface is covered.

Let the molds sit about 5 minutes & re-spread any of the candy melts that sank to the bottom of the molds.

Place the molds in the refrigerator for about 30-45 minutes.

Once the molds have set, carefully remove the candy melt spheres from the mold and place them onto a plate.

Fill half of the spheres with the hot cocoa powder & marshmallows.

Place a microwave safe plate in the microwave for one minute. If you don’t want to use a plate you can also use a small pan heated to very low.

Remove the plate and immediately place each empty sphere on the hot plate to heat the chocolate edges.

Place each heated sphere on each filled sphere. You can use the tip of your finger to smooth the melted candy around the seam. Wearing food safe gloves helps decrease the chances of leaving fingerprints on the chocolate, as well as the likelihood of melting.

If you find yourself having a really hard time closing the two spheres you can smooth a little extra melted chocolate along the seam, most of which would be covered when you added sprinkles.

Use the cookie icing to draw lines back and forth on top of the bomb. The icing will act as a glue to hold the pearls you are going to put on.

Scatter the pearls onto the bomb.

Now you’re ready to use the Hot Chocolate bomb or store it.

When you’re ready to enjoy your hot cocoa bomb, heat 8 oz of water (or milk for richer flavor) in the microwave or on the stovetop.

Place one cocoa bomb into a large mug, and slowly pour the hot water (or steamed milk) over it.

The bomb will start to open. Stir lightly to continue opening the bomb, stirring until the chocolate and sprinkles have melted.

Enjoy!
