Count Down to Mars Landing Day with the Exploratorium!

This Thursday, February 18, 2021, is Landing day for the Newest Mars Rover, Perserverence! You can count down to Landing Day online with the Exploratorium on Thursday at noon as they bring you live coverage of Perserverence's attempt to land on the Red Planet. Experience the nail-biting excitement of landing and learn about what the scientists will be looking for. This program is offered free of charge.

Perserverence was constructed at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Southern California will join a rover, a lander, and multiple orbiters currently at work on or around the Mars. This newest Mars rover will be searching for signs of extraterrestrial life on the Red Planet. Perseverance is also bringing with it several cutting-edge technologies to Mars, including a helicopter called Ingenuity which will be the first aircraft to attempt powered, controlled flight on another planet.
