Tips to Make Your Car More Eco Friendly

Whether you driver and older car or a new one, whether it’s big or small. There are Preventive Maintenance Steps all all of us should take for a greener more environmentally friendly car. With so many things that cripple the environment, from trash, to water, air pollution, water pollution and more. By taking preventive maintenance steps, you and others can help protect the environment. Here are just a few things you can do to get started on making your car more eco friendly:

Wash Your Own Car

When your car needs a good washing it’s recommended that you do it yourself. I know car washes are more convenient and all however they are not good for the earth. The cleaners car washes use have harmful chemicals. And the water used for one car wash is about 40 and 50 gallons per car. So if you care about the environment, you’ll do it yourself.

Carry Less in Your Vehicles

Don’t keep so much stuff in your car, because the more weight in the Vehicle the harder the engine works thus using more gas. You should only carry things you absolutely need, like some car tools, first aid kit, water bottle, and clean up any trash laying around.

Keep Things Clean

To avoid litter, carry a small trash bag in your car for small trash items, such as wrappers, napkins, straws/straw wrappers, old condiment packets, etc. After about a few days, tie up the little bag and put it in your trash can. This is a great habit to make for those that find it hard to keep their car clean.

Get Rid of the Dampness

Whether your coming from the gym, caught in the rain or snow shower, your vehicle interior will absorb some of that moisture while sitting in the car. Be sure to remove all wet stuff as soon as possible, and let your car air out. This will then reduces the possibility of mold or mildew buildup. Put some dryer sheets around the car to help as well.

Drive Safer and Smart

Speeding causes you to use more gas than you need to, also you can get into an accident. Don’t drive recklessly as well, sudden fast turns and jerks can ruin the tire alignment and such making you take more trips to the mechanic than needed, it can also use more gas because your vehicle is working harder. Being a smart defensive driver will help keep you and others safer on the road. Use the A/C only when needed, also when going shopping or to work try finding a parking spot in the shade on hot days, so when you leave it doesn’t take long for your car to cool off  when started.
